Under the general direction of the Section Supervisor and/or Technical Specialist, this position(s) will perform testing in Hematology.

The successful candidate will possess the appropriate skills and theory necessary to perform a variety of testing and independently operate and maintain equipment used in routine and specialized testing in the assigned area/shift.  As part of the Lab team, the CLS must perform accurate and precise work with a consistently low error rate while maintaining awareness of sectional needs and contributing ones skills and abilities to meet those needs. Perform and review quality control following established schedules. 

The ideal candidate follows procedures, is a team player, works cooperatively while maintaining a professional and positive attitude, and is customer service-oriented.  The CLS should actively participate in internal and external continuing education programs to keep abreast of current practices and advance their skills and knowledge.  

Position requires rotating weekends with a generous shift differential and rotating holidays.  Flexible scheduling available. 

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:  Associate's degree with MLT (ASCP) or the equivalent in education and clinical laboratory experience required with 4 years of laboratory experience (as a CLS I or comparable position) or a Bachelor's degree with MT (ASCP) or the equivalent in education and clinical laboratory experience required with 2 years of laboratory experience (as a CLS II or comparable position).

Note: Candidates not qualifying at the Clinical Lab Scientist III level may be considered for Clinical Lab Scientist II (Bachelor's degree with MT (ASCP) or equivalent education and experience) or for Clinical Lab Scientist I (Associate's degree with MT (ASCP) or equivalent education and experience).  New graduates encouraged to apply.
