    Patient Registration Trainer

    The Patient Registration Trainer is responsible for participating in the planning, organization and implementation of education and development for Registration staff. Formulates and implements curriculum for orientation, continuing education, and skill training sessions; structures educational programs and selects assignments for registration staff development to meet instructional needs; and demonstrates effective instruction techniques utilizing appropriate lesson planning and program presentation.  Attains and maintains the AAHAM CPAT or CAHAM Certification.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • High school graduate or G.E.D. required, prefer AA or other evidence of continuing education
    • Minimum of one (1) year of hospital experience in Registration/Admitting
    • Minimum of two (2) years experience with computer data entry and word processing
    • Extensive knowledge of insurance registration procedures to include HMOs, PPOs, POS, Medicare
    • Microsoft Office proficiency: Work and Excel at a minimum
    • Demonstrated teaching skills in orientation and instruction of new registration personnel
    • Medical terminology or demonstrated proficiency
    • Bilingual preferred
    • AAHAM CPAT or CAHAM Certification required within one year of hire
