Assist the pharmacists by preparing doses of medications to be dispensed by pharmacists and utilized by the nurse and physician staffs. Assist in maintaining quality pharmaceutical preparations by following appropriate quality assurance guidelines within the department. Applies the necessary skills to assist with the charging/crediting of pharmaceuticals to the patient. Exercises appropriate judgmental and communicative ability to effectively interact with all healthcare personnel as required to maintain quality care to the patient.
Qualifications: One-year in hospital or retail pharmacy preferred. High School graduate or equivalent is required. Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and simple math such as percentages and ratios required. Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate (CPhT) or graduate from an accredited pharmacy technician-training program. Ability to type or previous keyboard skills. Must obtain Alabama State Board of Pharmacy Registration before beginning position in the pharmacy required.
3:15pm to 8pm M-F on one or two nights a week and 9am-5:30pm on Saturday and Sunday every 4th weekend
