Demonstrates and provides expertise to the professional staff in the care and management of patients as directed by physician and/or requested by staff. Maintains orthopedic equipment and supplies inventory assuring that equipment is kept clean and repaired and that supplies are maintained at appropriate par levels. Communicates effectively with patients, family, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisor and outside contacts. Demonstrates knowledge and practice of basic patient care concepts. Demonstrates the application of the principles of asepsis. Demonstrates basic surgical case preparation skills. Demonstrates responsible behavior as a health care professional.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Recent hospital experience and/or previous experience in orthopedics preferred. BLS within 90 days or DOH/Transfer. Verbal and written communication skills required. Computer skills preferred. Ability to deal with multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment required.
