EAMC is seeking a Clinical Documentation Specialist to join our team!

Job Description: The CDI Specialist is responsible for performing day to day medical record reviews concurrently and retropectively with the primary goal of an accurate representation of healthcare services provided through complete and accurate reporting of diagnoses and procedures. This review is accomplished by clinically evaluating how the health record translates into coded data, including review of providers' and other clinicians' documentation, lab results, diagnostic information, and treatment plans. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills,  knowledge of care delivery systems, and knowledge of disease processes.  General knowledge of MSDRGs, ICD 10 Diagnoses and Procedures preferred.

Education: Associate degree- RN

Licensure: Must be a registered nurse with license in Alabama; CCS preferred

Preferred experience and education includes: 5 years Registered Nursing experience, bachelors degree in Nursing and/or formal training in Medical Records Coding and/or Clinical Documentation.
