Job Objective: The Administrative Director/Controller, under the direction of the CFO/Vice President, shall be responsible for the Medical Center's Financial activities. The position includes direction of the following functions: Hospital and Ambulatory finance and general accounting (including Accounts Payable and Payroll), treasury/daily cash management, financial reporting, reimbursement, financial planning, budget and decision support. The Administrative Director/Controller is the liaison with the organization's independent certified public accounting firm, providing guidance in the conduct of the annual audit. The position is also intricately involved as part of the Revenue Cycle as it relates to payor contracting and the impact of business office processes on financial accounting, compliance, government reporting, budget and chargemaster design. The Administrative Director/Controller ensures and maintains the required reporting and distribution of accurate and timely financial and statistical information to outside stakeholders, both government and non-government entities. The position works with the Medical Center CFO and operations leadership to develop the Strategic Financial Planning process. The position also is responsible for developing work plans, selecting appropriate analytical methodologies and in making recommendations to Administration and management staff. Evaluates performance of all direct reports. Develops and maintains a service-oriented attitude among the staff and creatively supports the quality initiatives of the organization and the community. Communicates the mission, vision and commitment statements to members of the department. Provides support and encourages staff to act with authority over and responsibility for the activities in the department. Serves as an example to all staff by advocating and demonstrating continuous improvement in performance.
Education: BA in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field. Master's degree (preferred).
Licensure/Certification: CPA (strongly preferred).
Experience: Minimum 5 years in a healthcare financial management position. Minimum 3 years supervisory experience. Previously held Controller position in healthcare (preferred).
