Job Objective: Under the direction of the Clinical Manager/Director, the Charge Nurse supervises and coordinates the daily operation of the Outpatient Observation Unit for the assigned shift. This includes the daily staffing assignments and the coordination of departmental resources. Responsible for coordinating and supervising the nursing and technical staff. Monitors the performance and competency of the staff and gives verbal and written input for annual performance evaluations, as well as assisting the Clinical Manager/Director with personnel issues regarding non-compliance of policies and procedures. Functions as the liaison with the medical staff and other customers for the Clinical Manager/Director when not present. Contributes to the development of policies and procedures, performance improvement plans, and has general oversight for staff orientation and development. Promotes performance excellence standards within the department.
Licensure/Certification Required: CA RN License, BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association
