Job Details:
  • Job Objective:A brief overview of the position.

    • The behavioral health registered nurse provides direct patient care, collaborates with patients, families, peers, physicians and other members of the health care team in the delivery of health care services to the specific patient population. The behavioral health registered nurse assesses patients needs, plans care, implements and evaluates patient care in accordance with the patient’s needs based on the nurses knowledge of growth/development, the hospital and nursing philosophy, policies/procedures and standards. He/she demonstrates knowledge/ experience in methods of psychotherapeutic treatment; skilled in crisis intervention and conducting psychoeducational groups and individual teaching. He/she demonstrates   leadership/management skills and a commitment to professional accountability and growth. Position may require working at alternate sites.

    • Education



    ·        Required: California RN licensure, BLS and Workplace Violence and Response Training Class will be completed during program orientation

    ·        Preferred: Certified in specialty practice area.


    ·        Required: Knowledge of current nursing, medical and health trends and practices in rendering of patient care. Knowledge and ability to function in a professional role and serve as a professional role model.

    ·        Required : 2 years of experience in a mental health nursing setting. 

    ·        Preferred: (Group therapy experience desirable; Experience in Crisis Intervention)
