Job Objective: The Adult/Pediatric Respiratory Care Team Leader is an individual who is professionally skilled in the application of respiratory care services. This person supervises a staff of Respiratory Care Practitioners and assures the provision of respiratory care services in a timely, clinically appropriate manner during assigned shift. Provides routine and critical care respiratory care modalities for the adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Graduate from an AMA or JRCRTE approved Respiratory Therapy program with an Associate's Degree. BA degree in Respiratory Therapy, Management, or related field. Certification or credential in management or related field (preferred).
Licensure/Certification: Current and valid Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license from the Respiratory Care Board of California (RCBC). Current and valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Current and valid BLS, PALS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association. NRP certification from the American Heart Association (preferred).
Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience. Minimum 3 years experience providing respiratory care services per established protocol. Minimum of 1 year in a lead position in an acute care hospital (preferred).
