Under the general direction of the director of pharmacy, is responsible for all aspects of dispensing, compounding, labeling, storage, education, and proper usage of pharmaceutical preparations. Monitors the patients drug therapy to ensure that each medication ordered is safe and appropriate for the patient. Performs unit based clinical pharmacy services. Responsible for supervision, training and inspection of all work performed by technicians. Requirements: Must have graduated from an accredited pharmacy school. Kentucky Board of Pharmacy License. Must have sufficient experience in all areas of hospital pharmacy to successfully fulfill the responsibilities of the position. Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 Residency preferred. Experience with hazardous drug handling, IV chemo admixture and hem-onc population practice experience preferred.
