Performs a wide range of housekeeping tasks and projects associated with the maintenance of the physical facility including stripping, sealing, and refinishing of various floor surfaces, spot cleaning and extracting carpet, and other projects as assigned. Operation of heavy equipment such as rotary buffers, automatic floor scrubbers, and others is required. Also, may be required to perform other housekeeping tasks. Exhibits the values of F.I.R.S.T. Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort
Works in a typical Medical Center environment subject to the hazards associated with such a facility. A flexible working schedule is required including overtime and weekend assignments. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. independently. Extensive and constant amounts of physical effort required including walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and operation of heavy machinery associated with routine floor care projects. Vision must be good or prescribed glasses worn. Preference for routine, organized activities performed according to predetermined Organization policies. High tolerance for pressure and stress due to task interruption as well as task overload.
Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents
Education: High school graduate or GED. Must be able to read and write as well as follow verbal and written directions.
Experience: Prior floor care experience preferred. Knowledge of floor care equipment preferred.
