Development Associate
Department: Development
Schedule: Full Time
Shift: Day Shift/Some evenings & weekends required

SUMMARY  The Development Associate’s primary responsibilities are processing and acknowledging donations as well as managing the day-to-day operations of the development database. Other duties include assisting with special events, annual appeal, newsletters, corporate and foundation grants, tours, visits, celebrations, and donations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Perform record and data cleanup/updates in the data base as needed;
  • Create and produce customized reports using  Raisers Edge donations other software;
  • Work with finance office to manage and reconcile development records;
  • Assist with logistics of direct mail campaigns including overseeing project budgets;
  • Conduct a series of writing assignments including report development;
  • Assist with budget reporting and the processing of invoices;
  • Perform donor and prospect research on individuals, corporations and foundations
  • Support the submission of funding requests;
  • Organize and maintain development records, office supplies, and office environment;
  • Attend and assist at occasional special events outside the normal schedule;
  • Assist with phone and communications with board members, major donors, and volunteers;
  • Assist with scheduling meetings;
  • Occasionally support marketing department when requested.

 

Required Skills and Experience

        Two years work experience;

        Strong written and oral communication skills;

        Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs;

        Committed and able to uphold high levels of accountability for self and for others;

        Ability to multi-task and manage the completion of multiple projects;

        Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and integrity;

        Ability to be creative, flexible, well-organized;

        Interest and/or experience with non-profit a plus;

        Experience with database fundraising software and other software programs a plus.

 

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Education requirements may be waived if candidate meets all of the above skills, abilities, and experiences.
