HOSPITAL OVERVIEW

Since 1949, Franciscan Hospital for Children has pioneered clinical, therapeutic and educational programs for children with a variety of disabilities. Through the years, as one of the nation's largest pediatric rehabilitation hospitals, we have expanded our complement of programs and services for children with special health care needs, as well as for children from the local community. We are located in the Brighton section of Boston, MA. We have free parking, and are on both the Green line and Local Bus line of the MBTA (public Transportation system)

Behavioral Health Services is our outpatient mental health department which focuses on the emotional experience and needs of children and adolescents. Our programs offer individualized care provided by an interdisciplinary staff dedicated to working with children and adolescents. Our staff provides compassionate quality care to our kids helping them reach their fullest potential with opportunities to do psychiatric evaluation, consultation and supervision.

CBAT (Community Based Acute Treatment), our short term stabilization residential unit is an unlocked, licensed unit providing care for children aged four to fourteen with behavioral and mental health issues.  The Psychiatrist’s responsibilities would include medication management, medication consultation, managing rounds and family work as needed.  The treatment team is comprised of several disciplines, including psychiatry, psychology, nursing, social work, case managers, interns and residential counselors.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Board Certified/Eligible child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
  • License to practice medicine in the Commonwealth.
  • Holder of a valid controlled substance registration issued by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration.
  • The Physician has met criteria to become a member of Franciscan Hospital for Children’s Medical/Dental Staff
  • The Physician should hold a standard policy of medical malpractice insurance approved by the hospital.
