Associate Degree Required
Provides administrative oversight to one ambulatory practice service line and location. Ultimately responsible for the day-to-day operations. Collaborates with the Director of Operations in formulating, implementing and evaluating business plans/strategies for the ambulatory practice and responsible for achieving both short and long term strategic, business and financial goals/objectives. Provides guidance and direction to staff and promotes teamwork within the practice.
Essential Position Functions:
Provides guidance and direction to the staff.
Ensuring quality patient care, excellent customer service to patients , promotion of teamwork among staff, maintenance of the building and equipment, compliance with all applicable policies and procedures, operating within the approved budget and compliance with licensure requirements as defined for outpatient clinics.
Responsible for addressing all problems/incidents of a management or administrative nature, playing an active leadership role in problem identification and resolution.
Associates Degree required; will consider 2 years of additional supervisory experience in a medical office or other healthcare setting in lieu of a degree..
Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience with a preference in a medical office or other healthcare setting.
Completion of the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Medical Administrative Assistant required within 1 year of hire.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and experience working in an electronic medical record (Meditech preferred) is required.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external customers.
Ability to comprehend, converse and communicate effectively with medical center staff, patients, families and external customers.
Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.
Ability to act as a team leader for small projects or work groups, creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and improving workflows. Results may impact the operations of one or more departments.
Desire to teach and support others and the ability to adjust teaching style to the learning needs of new and current team members to facilitate successful training; and able to influence others to perform their jobs effectively.
Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff and external customers in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem solving. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
