Position Title: Physician Assistant
Department: Genesis Occupational Health
Purpose: Physician Assist will work under the supervision of a physician and confers with the supervising physician and other medical professionals as needed or as required by law. Provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative healthcare services in a fasted paced Occupational Health clinical environment. They will take medical histories and physical examinations, examine and treat patients, order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays, make diagnoses, and prescribe medications. Also will treat minor injuries, suturing and splinting. High level of customer service is needed.

Supervisory Responsibility: No Supervision: The job does not require the provision of guidance or supervision to others. There is no formal responsibility for directing others.
Materials Responsibility: Limited: Work requires limited responsibility for material resources. Examples of resources could include supplies, equipment, inventories, small budgets, and other similar material assets. The employee has a limited amount of control over these resources. The cost of errors is also limited in terms of damage, waste or financial loss. Problems associated with material resources are not complex. The volume of resources may vary, but the level of difficulty in dealing with these resources is uncomplicated.

Physical Demands: Moderate Intensity: Work requires moderate physical exertion. Forces exerted are equivalent to lifting between 10 and 25 pounds. Job requirements for manual dexterity or physical manipulation are also moderate. The need for physical stamina and endurance is of some significance. The degree of physical strain produced on the job is moderately taxing, and is fatiguing. Work could involve a considerable amount of walking, standing, a confining or tiring work position, or constant periods of sitting in one position where freedom does not exist to walk about. The position exceeds these moderate intensity demands occasionally, 10-35% of the time.
Working Conditions: There is exposure to some undesirable or unpleasant environmental characteristics. The physical environment is generally safe and there is minimal health risk. No safety equipment or unusual precautions are required. Exposure to these conditions would be limited to 70% or less of the work day.
