- A professional nurse leader who has responsibility for developing, achieving and maintaining the goals of an assigned unit and shift by focusing on the daily operations. The assistant nurse manager is responsible for managing business and clinical functions as delegated by the Nurse Manager. Responsible for employee development and evaluation with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. Accountable for daily unit operations, including staffing and scheduling, rounding, and oversight of all clinical functions for assigned shift. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Graduate of an approved professional (RN) nursing program. 2. Current Michigan licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse. 3. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, or related field, or willing to complete with 4 years. 4. A minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience, with at least 2 years recent clinical practice in area specialty. Supervisory experience desirable. 5. Analytical and interpersonal skills necessary in order to interpret and enforce policies and procedures and identify and initiate appropriate corrective actions to resolve problems. 6. Must have a proficient knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
