Assists with the coordination and support of the various aspects of phlebotomy services provided by Glens Falls Hospital in order to provide a high level of patient care in a timely and professional manner. The major areas of responsibility will also include support of operations at eight remote specimen collection centers.

Education/Experience:
HS diploma or GED, with at least two (2) years experience in all areas of phlebotomy preferably in both an outpatient and hospital setting.
Experience training staff is preferred.

Skills/Abilities:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions and policy manuals.

Ability to speak effectively in order to communicate with customers and staff.

Math skills with the ability to compute using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.

Ability to understand and carry out instructions in written, oral and diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several variables such as those relating to phlebotomy services.

Ability to operate and become proficient with the departmental computer applications as related to specimen collection activities within a 4 week period.

 

Licenses/Certificates/Registrations:

Certification by ASCP or ASPT is preferred.
