As a member of the healthcare team and under the direction of a Registered Nurse, performs all aspects of the NA role and US roles, and also assumes responsibility for maintenance of all emergency equipment supplies. Assists with maintenance of a safe environment and appropriate utilization of resources. This position will respond in a timely manner to patient/family needs and requests. This position is responsible and accountable to assist in the overall functioning of the unit in response to provider/customer needs encompassing communicative, receptionist, computer and secretarial services. These functions include, but are not limited to, assisting with medical records, admissions, transfers, discharge/death, transcribing selected physician orders, supplies, equipment and unit records.
High school graduate or GED.
Medical terminology preferred.
Experience equivalent to 100 hours of patient care experience strongly preferred.
Assumes responsibility for maintaining current knowledge related to the age and development of the patient population served.
Able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
Evidences customer service skills consistent with GFH values and mission.
Ability to follow directions; perform routine responsibilities in a flexible, self-directed manner.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as, instructions, policies, procedures.
Basic math skills with ability to compute figures.
Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy and physiology preferred.
