JOB SUMMARY
Provides clerical support, as requested, for Physical and Occupational Therapy, and coordinates office activities for the Physical and Occupational Therapists at offsite locations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Enter patient data in Affinity and EDM computer systems. Contacts all insurance companies to confirms patient’s benefits including co-pay, deductable, number of visits allowed, % coverage and need for pre-certification, and authorizations. Greets & registers patients and schedules appointments.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or Equivalent

MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Three years secretarial and customer service experience. Graduate of a secretarial school preferred. Exposure to a medical facility with experience in appointments, registration, insurance, office budgets preferred.

REQUIRED LICENSE, REGISTRY OR CERTIFICATION
None

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED
Telephone etiquette, organizational skills, ability to adjust and deal effectively with frequent interruptions and workload, competent use of Microsoft Applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint), ability to function independently , ability to problem-solve effectively, effective communication skills.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITY
Professional secretarial, PC application, and medical office courses preferred.
