The Environmental Services Assistant works under the general supervision of the Environmental Services Group Leader and is responsible for the cleaning and disinfecting of patient and non-patient areas, prepares rooms for incoming patients and performs other duties as assigned. Responsible for linen processing.
Position requires weekend and holiday rotation.
No prior experience or training.
Registration/Certification or License Required:
High school diploma or GED.
Housekeeping in Hospital or office setting.
Management Experience (If applicable):
Lift and carry 40-50 lbs.
Push/pull +/- 150-200 lbs. (Patients on bed, stretcher)
Lateral transfer 150-200 lbs. (ie. Patient)
Occasional sitting, keyboard use.
Frequent twisting, bending, reaching.
Continuous standing, walking.
Occasional talking, hearing.
No allergic reaction to cleaning or finishing solvents.
Must be able to read work instructions and effectively communicate with all patients during high volume shifts.
