Hours: 8a - 5p, Monday - Friday
Job Details:
  • Basic Function: Greets, instructs, directs and schedules patients and visitors. Serves as a liaison between patient and medical support staff. Makes a positive first impression on any person utilizing the HSHS Medical Group Health services, whether on the phone or in person.

    Requirements:

    1. High school graduate or equivalent
    2. Two or more years of experience in Customer Service and Medical Clinic preferred
    3. Medical Terminology course preferred
    4. Above average telephone, communication and diplomacy skills
    5. Skill in operating a computer, photocopy machine and other office type equipment
    6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others

    Principle Responsibilities:

     

    1. Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, professional, courteous and helpful manner. 
    2. Enter insurance information for patients of HSHS Medical Group Health. Obtain accurate demographic and insurance/coverage information 
    3. Follow office-scheduling protocols. 
    4. Type correspondence as directed. Sort and/or deliver mail, medical records, and other documents. 
    5. Maintain registration accuracy standard set by the Clinic. 
    6. Screens visitors and responds to routine requests for information. 
    7. Answer telephone, screen calls, take messages, and provides information as needed. 
    8. Collect any required payments in accordance with HSHS Medical Group Policies and Procedures. 
    9. Create new patient charts and enter into applicable system. 
    10. Contact patient to complete registration if needed. 
    11. Verify insurance eligibility for all new patients.  
    12. Files charts, coordinates lab work, physician’s report, etc. 
    13. Maintains work area and lobby in neat and orderly manner. 
    14. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times and follow applicable policies and procedures relating to release of information. 
    15. Attends mandatory clinic meetings
    16. Reflects behaviors and conduct consistent with religious sponsorship and the articulated values of the Hospital Sisters Health System. 
    17. Performs other duties as assigned.
