The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is prepared to function as a member of the health-care team by exercising sound nursing judgment based on preparation, knowledge, skills, understanding and past experiences in nursing situations. They participate in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care in all settings where clinical care takes place. The LPN has accountability for the operations of the assigned unit, residents and/or tasks. This includes directing the nursing staff regarding appropriate clinical practices to ensure quality care to residents. A primary responsibility is mentoring and educating staff, working and providing direction to physicians and other medical professionals, and serving as a resource to all staff within the unit regarding the quality of services provided. The LPN provides hands-on care to residents along with the unit staff to ensure quality care. They have responsibility for managing all assigned unit staff. Ensuring state and federal regulatory compliance of the unit is also required, and this involves working with other members of the interdisciplinary team to maintain overall clinical performance of the community. The LPN assures compliance with Integrace clinical standards, protocols and policies and is required to function as a member of the Integrace community. Education: Graduate of an NLN accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a licensed practical nurse in the State of Maryland.
Licenses, Certifications, Registrations: Current licensure as a licensed practical nurse in the State of Maryland.
Experience: At least one year's experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
