  • Performs and supervises all clinical equipment service and support program functions, to include repairs, preventive maintenance, quality assurance inspections, installation, testing, calibration, troubleshooting and general maintenance on one or more categories of  patient care (clinical)  equipment and related technologies at assigned McLaren Healthcare Corporation (MHC) sites. Assists with, and/or reviews, service and related technical maintenance activities performed by both McLaren Clinical Engineering Services (MCES) staff as well as external vendors. Assists with installation planning, acceptance testing and ongoing up-time management of newly purchased clinical equipment. Periodically travels to offsite clinical sites, affiliates and other external business entities (contractual) to provide technical services per departmental policy. Over time, and as experience is gained, demonstrates ability to assume additional responsibilities to service additional clinical and related support equipment as required.



    Qualifications: Required: High School graduate or equivalent. An associate's degree in biomedical engineering or electronics with Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) Certification is required (or Certified Radiology Equipment Service (CRES) or Certified Laboratory Equipment Technician (CLES) Certification.) Proficient in the use and operation of software applications, to include general PC based systems; database and Microsoft Office software applications. CMMS (Computerized Medical Equipment Management Software) experience required. Participated in hospital based clinical engineering internship program. A minimum of one year experience as a biomedical supervisor /biomedical technician, with 5 years, preferred, as senior level, BMET III or Specialist, supporting advanced medical technologies (i.e. Ventilators, Anesthesia, Ultrasound). Preferred: BS Degree in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology, TCPIP Networking experience/troubleshooting, Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) knowledge.
