Performs a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services to support a defined patient population program or service. Demonstrates excellence in nursing practice characterized by quality patient care and participation in formal and informal patient and staff education. Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care. Reports to Nurse Manager/Specialty Clinical Supervisor and works in close cooperation with and under the clinical guidance of the practice physician(s). Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience, Education and Training Minimum: Must have an Associates in Nursing/Diploma in Nursing with applicable experience, however a BSN is preferred. If hired with an ADN, the candidate must complete a BSN program within three years from their date of hire. Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license. RN certification preferred. Pediatric experience preferred. Technical and professional knowledge and skills unique to the business and/or clinical services provided, usually acquired through 3-5 years' progressive clinical experience in the related specialty preferred. CPR and PALS Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
