Safety Security and Emerg Mgmt




Under the leadership of the security department management or designee, the security officer provides a safe and secure environment for patient, visitors and staff.  Ensures the security of buildings and property through regular patrols and updates logs. Investigates incidents that occur on health system property, generates reports and completes follow up on incidents as directed.  Maintains and inspect alarms and safety equipment.  Promotes positive guest relations by assisting visitors.  Performs additional duties as assigned.

Experience, Education and Training Minimum:  High school graduate or equivalent.  At least two years security officer experience is preferred.  Experience in a hospital environment is preferred. Demonstrated computer literacy, loss prevention techniques and positive guest relations skills. Must meet the insurability policy requirements to drive a CHKD vehicle.  Must be able to pass the CHKD driving test within 30 days of employment. CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
