Job Details:

Reports to department Director. Provides clinical services under the direction/supervision of a physician while assisting in cardiac catheterization as well as vascular and interventional procedures. Responsible for managing, coordinating and directing the workflow and functions of designated service personnel to facilitate safe and efficient workflow and practices.  Overall responsibility for designated service operations with 24-hour accountability.  Works closely with the department leadership regarding strategic planning, continuous quality improvement, financial / budget reporting and monitoring. Delegates, supervises personnel. Provides leadership, education, guidance, recognition, and professional development to personnel in order to support operations. Solves problems, makes decisions and develops systems and processes for successful integration and implementation, utilizing organizational and analytical skills. Ability to plan and oversee clinical and non-clinical operations and business related activities that may include but are not limited to medical, surgical and procedural scheduling processes, registration processes, billing operations. Coding, auditing, reimbursement, credentialing and other unique practice operations and financial practices.  Independently carries out and is accountable for daily operations and other negotiated/assigned activities. Works in close cooperation and collaboration with practice physician(s) and leadership to accomplish identified goals. Seeks guidance from the Director/Medical Director and/or upper management for unusual or unanticipated circumstances that require deviation from financial/operational policies and standards of practice. Assists physician in all aspects of cardiac invasive and non-invasive testing, diagnostic laboratory tests and procedures following established policies, procedures and regulations. Educates patients and families; participates in research projects; maintains cardiac cath lab and other diagnostic equipment; initiates on-going quality assurance; maintains regulatory requirements; assists in establishing and updating cath lab policies and procedures.


Experience, Education and Training Minimum: Current State licensure as a Registered Nurse with 3- 5 years’ experience.  Bachelor’s degree required with demonstrated progressive supervisory experience. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) required and/or must be obtained within 48 months of hire.  Pediatric experience preferred.  Knowledge and skill in invasive procedures protocols, equipment and instrumentation specific to cardiac invasive procedures preferred.  Possess excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to plan, supervise establish and maintain a professional work environment.  Ability to identify problems and implement solutions for operational and organizational functions.  Interpersonal skills necessary to direct subordinates and delegate tasks. Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice.  Ability to plan and oversee all clinical and business operations that may include but not limited to surgical and procedural scheduling, billing, coding, and auditing. CPR training required and/or must be obtained within 90 days of hirePALS and ACLS certification required and/or must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
