The ED Technician’s primary responsibility is managing the front desk including but not limited to documentation and order entry, and responding to phone calls. The ED Triage technician’s primary job is to serve (remove the s) as an ambassador to the patients, families, and other visitors in the reception area. Clinical duties for both include but are not limited to assisting with patient care under the direction and supervision of the RN.
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2 .Typing and computer skills including but not limited to Meditech and MedHost.
3. Medical Terminology.
4. Current Heartsaver AED CPR certification.
5. Current Montana C.N.A.
6. Skills in organization, accuracy, consistently setting priorities which assist the unit to run
7. Prior work experience interacting with a wide variety of people in a busy environment,
resourceful and able to solve problems quickly, maintaining a calm, professional demeanor,
providing outstanding customer service.
•*Demonstrates ability to perform clerical skills in an organized and accurate manner, consistently setting priorities which allow the unit to function in an efficient and orderly manner.
•*Meet and greet all incoming patients and visitors at triage when performing the triage tech role.
•*The tech will assist with the short registration of patients.
•*Perform vital signs, EKG’s, venipuncture and patient care and assistance as requested by the Charge Nurse or Triage nurse.
•*When performing the ED Tech role manage the front desk and phones.
•*Assist with the turn over of rooms when patients leave including emptying trash and linen, Stock supplies and linen, Check equipment and supply outdates.
•*Train and become proficient at the monitor tech duties.
•*Assist the Charge Nurse as assigned.
