MRI Technologist



Days or Afternoons - Variable to include weekends




Performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures.  Assumes responsibility and maintains the general care and safety of patients during diagnostic procedures. Performs a wide range of  MRI procedures including post-processing of scans per protocol. Administers intravascular contrast media per protocol using a power injector.  Assists physician in performing procedures.  Maintains effective, professional working relationships with radiologists, other physicians and co-workers, as necessary to maintain optimal quality of patient care.  Screens patients for metal and other contraindications, utilizes Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and performs clerical duties related to patient chart documentation and PACS document scanning.



Must be certified and registered in MRI by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) at time of hire, or within a defined time period established by Lakeland if not MRI certified/registered at time of hire.  Must be certified by the American Heart Association in BLS for Healthcare Providers. Minimum of one year full time experience performing MRI scans preferred. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, and other practitioners.  Must have complete understanding of cross-sectional anatomy.  Must be able to start an IV to administer intravascular contrast media. Must have sound knowledge in the production of MRI scans.  Demonstrates competency in the use of PACS.
