The barista must consistently provide excellent guest service, prepare superior quality coffee and espresso beverages, and maintain Java City standards at all times. The staff member will provide services at a level that meets or exceeds the expectations of our customers, and other LRHS associates. Maintains an effective and positive working relationship with customers, visitors, supervisors and other LRHS associates while adhering to all policies and procedures. Operate cash register, handle cash from guest transactions in a careful and accurate manner and follow all cash handling procedures. High School diploma or G.E.D preferred. Ability to read at an 8th grade level and perform mathematical computations at a 6th grade level, as documented by successfully passing a math and reading test. Good interpersonal skills are essential due to contact with general public. Baristas must be friendly and outgoing, possess a good understanding of guest service, pay attention to detail, and be multi-task oriented. You must have the ability to effectively present information to guest, comprehend simple instructions and read and understand company policies, procedures and recipes. The team member must stand approximately 90% of the work shift and on occasion is required to climb a ladder to reach stored supplies. The team member frequently is required to lift from floor to above the head 40-50 pounds.
