Implements occupational therapy services for patients and clients under the supervision of an occupational therapist (OTR). These services include structured assessments, treatment, and documentation. Contributes to growth and development of occupational therapy through administrative and planning activities, and through COTA educational program affiliation work. Assists in performing treatment as developed and directed by the occupational therapist, maintains and completes documentation, department records and reports and contributes to the efficient productive operation of the therapy unit.
Graduate of an accredited (AOTCB) occupational therapy assistant program required. Must possess certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) or be certified eligible. Must be licensed in the State of Michigan. Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to interact with patients, visitors and associates and the ability to handle stressful situations.
