This position is a part of a New Graduate RN Flex Pool Program in Post Surgical Care.
As a new graduate, you will begin this position as a Registered Nurse Intern:
A Registered Nurse Intern assists in the development of nursing care plans and performs a variety of both technical and routine nursing services consistent with such plans. Works under the general supervision of a registered nurse during an individualized nursing internship program. Performs various duties necessary to provide complete care, comfort and safety for assigned patients under the direction of a professional nurse. Routine daily care, obtaining vital signs or performing special orders or treatments as directed by a Registered Nurse.
Requires the candidate to have graduated from an accredited RN School of nursing program. The candidate has 10 weeks to successfully complete their NCLEX exam. Must be in good physical and mental health. Requires activities such as pushing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, feeling, hearing, talking, and seeing. Must have ability to cope with physical and mental stress.
After passing the NCLEX and producing your State of Michigan Registered Nurse license, your title is changed to Registered Nurse:
A Registered Nurse provides direction and supervision to other health care professionals and ancillary staff. Evaluates care for specific patient populations, using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Assigns nursing personnel and collaborates with health care professionals according to diagnosis and patient care needs. Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage time. Will be scheduled in the assigned unit and participate in the other assigned units as needed.
Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan. Must be in good physical and mental health. Requires activities such as pushing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, feeling, hearing, talking, and seeing. Must have ability to cope with physical and mental stress.
This program is nine months in length. After the nine month program, the associate will be able to bid on other Lakeland nursing opportunities or stay within the Flex Pool.
