To assist the nurse and/or the physician with the medical needs of patients, as well as performing
clerical functions within the office. Responsible for telephone triage, taking messages and relaying information to the physician or nurse. Documents patient information and maintains medical record. Prepares patient for exams and assists physician with exams in the patient’s home. Performs diagnostic procedures and treatments in the patient’s home following policies and procedures. Schedules patient visits, tests and procedures using a computer scheduling program.
High School Graduate or GED required. Two years in a medical office or hospital setting preferred. Must have computer skills. Must have strong communication skills and interact well with others. Good phone etiquette and an ability to relate in a caring manner to all patients. Some lifting is required. There is potential exposure to blood borne pathogens and infectious diseases. This job will require working in various home settings. You will be required to drive.
