Successfully train and educate end users throughout the organization for the electronic health record project. Work collaboratively with EHR department associates, especially Principal Trainers and Training Manager. Become credentialed in an Epic/ConnectCare application and be a subject matter expert on EHR software in order to provide effective training, within both formal classroom and flexible ad hoc (one-to-one), to end users on EHR. Become familiar with the general job responsibilities and workflows of end users through job shadowing. Adapt training style as needed based on audience analysis to ensure all established learning objectives are met. Communicate and collaborate with principal trainers and the training manager to identify appropriate training objectives, methods, and curriculum opportunities. Maintain communication with principal trainers, training manager, and the EHR department team members and leadership to ensure efficient problem hand-off and solution.
High school education required. Bachelor’s degree in education and teaching licensure preferred. Formal or informal teaching experience recommended. A minimum of one year of classroom teaching experience preferred. Subject Matter Expert in Epic or other EHR preferred. Computer proficiency required. Ability to demonstrate a strong customer service focus in all decisions and actions. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment utilizing a great amount of flexibility. Strong public speaking skills. Ability to manage difficult situations and personalities in the classroom. Must exhibit enthusiasm, energy and a positive attitude. Classroom teaching environment; occasionally must lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand for several hours at a time. Must be able to climb stairs. Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended shifts and/or extra shifts, sometimes on short notice.
