  • Responsibilities:

    Performs computerized tomography (CT) procedures.  Assumes responsibility and maintains the general care and safety of patients during diagnostic procedures.  Performs a wide range of  CT procedures utilizing a multi-slice scanner.  Performs post-processing of scans per protocol.  Administers intravascular contrast media per protocol using a power injector, assists physician in performing procedures.  Maintains effective, professional working relationships with radiologists, other physicians and co-workers, as necessary to maintain optimal quality of patient care.  Performs clerical duties related to patient chart documentation and PACS document scanning.

     

     Requirements:

    Must have graduated from a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology accredited radiography program.  Must be certified and registered as a Radiographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).  Must have advanced ARRT certification and registration in Computed Tomography at time of hire, or within a defined time period established by Lakeland if not CT certified/registered at time of hire.  Completion of the Lakeland Basic Dysrhythmia course preferred.  Must be certified by the American Heart Association in BLS for Healthcare Providers.  Minimum of one year full time experience performing CT scans preferred.  Must possess excellent interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, and other practitioners.  Participates in the clinical training of students.  Must have complete understanding of cross-sectional anatomy.  Must be able to start an IV to administer intravascular contrast media. Must have sound knowledge in the production of CT scans.  Demonstrates competency in the use of PACS.
