The Customer Service Rep (CSR) is responsible for accurate data collection and registration of all patients presenting for services. All duties and responsibilities are to be performed with outstanding customer service and registration accuracy for efficient billing processes. The CSR is expected to work collaboratively with all external and internal customers to maintain a positive outcome for all LRHS patients.Responsible for accurate patient identification prior to specimen collection and the acquisition, processing and delivery of laboratory specimens. Responsible for specimen processing in the Central Processing Area. Collects Quality Assurance data for Laboratory QA program.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical Terminology course recommended. Computer knowledge and experience. Office experience. Insurance experience helpful. Customer service course required to maintain a level of excellence required by job description. Previous Customer service experience helpful. Certification of training from an accredited Phlebotomy School or equivalent experience preferred. Phlebotomy training will be provided if the candidate does not have the certification. Computer skills preferred.
Knowledge of laboratory and general medical terminology is strongly encouraged. Interacting in a positive manner with all contacts is essential.
Since direct patient contact is limited to blood draws, CPR certification is not required.
