POSITION SUMMARY


Performs special imaging procedures such as but not limited to, CT, Ultrasound, Vascular Procedures, Special Procedures, Nuclear Medicine (if registered as a Nuclear Medical Technologist), and Mammography under the direction of a Radiologist at a technical level not requiring constant supervision; performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation and/or ultrasound; assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required by: performing patient services using special imaging modalities applying principles of radiation protection, evaluating images for technical quality, exercising professional judgment in the performance of procedures, providing patient care essential to special imaging procedures; and maintains the safety, comfort, and privacy of the patient.


 


EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE


Must be graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology. Must be registered per ARRT guidelines.  Must be certified by the State of Indiana.  Trained to treat all ages of patients.  Trained to lift patients and other training, as needed, (i.e. EKG Training).  CPR certified or the ability to become CPR certified unless exemption is in place in compliance with   Administrative Policy ET-002, Basic Life Support, CPR.   Provides basic life support (CPR) in emergency   situations and able to apply up to 10 pounds of pressure to a bleeding   site  Trained in Right To Know, Universal Precautions, Tuberculosis and other training as needed.
