    Pain Clinic



    Position Summary

    Coordinates care of pain clinic patients with other health care providers, i.e. Bureau of Worker's Compensation, physician offices, pharmacists, case management and social workers, insurance carriers, physical and occupational therapy departments, and employers.  Performs duties as a clinical nurse specializing in acute and chronic pain management to provide age-related care from adolescent through geriatric population.  Assists anesthesiologist with consultations and treatments.  Demonstrates good interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and families, physicians, visitors and other health system personnel.  Accountable to patient and family for care provided, and to the Director of Outpatient Services for the totality of performance.  Attend internal and external meetings to keep current with literature.  Meets all  criteria/factors of the core values or competencies required by LMH




    • Formulate nursing plan of care for pain management

    • Evaluate patient care outcomes utilizing Process Improvement

    • Adheres to policy and procedures according to standards of practice

    • Accurately document on specialized forms and patient agreements

    • Accurately enter billing information from current chargemaster

    • Provide accurate clinical information to physicians, and ancillary support services, such as hospital and physician coders for billing purposes

    • Assists anesthesiologist with epidural and other procedures, including those under fluoroscopy

    • Assist physician with YAG Laser Ophthalmology procedures




    • Current licensure State of Ohio

    • Keep current with technology

    • Uses Meditech, Logician for  patient information

    • Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies

    • Use of scheduling module to efficiently coordinate anesthesia and other services

    • Maintain customer service by supporting and demonstrating "Service Excellence" within the department and throughout the organization
