Supports and interprets the Illinois Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Code and Confidentiality Act to personnel physicians, patients and appropriate others.
Ensures staff competence through proper orientation, training, supervision and evaluation. Participates in interdepartmental planning.
Assumes responsibility for 24-hour functioning of the unit and serves as a resource person for all unit personnel
Maintains a staffing ratio appropriate for the current census, making such decisions in coordination with the Administrative Supervisor.
Demonstrates competency in CPR, CPI, Restraints, medication administration, age specific assessment and are; and utilizes proper CPI and restraint methods to de-escalate and/or restrain agitated patients.
