Position Summary: Promote and maintain a positive public image to patient’s, families, and hospital and medical staff. Interview and register patients, obtain accurate and complete demographic and insurance information, obtain required signatures and prepare and disperse admission paperwork. Maintains an efficient patient flow primarily through the registration process. Collects all required information needed to insure proper reimbursement for services rendered. Supports the Mission, Vision and Values of Lourdes Health System.
Education: HS Diploma Required
Experience: 0-1 years experience required, 2-4 preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to handle confidential information as appropriate.
Must have strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Must be customer focused and results oriented.
Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects and follow through on tasks.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Preferred:
Working knowledge of third party payer guidelines
Knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to work in a fast paced, stressful work environment
Ability to speak and understand Spanish
Moderate physical effort (e.g. continuous typing, occasional lifting, prolonged standing/bending, etc.)
