Job Details:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Preferred  Background in the following Industrial Engineering principles: Work flow analysis, simulations, statistical quality control, benchmarking, cost analysis, business process improvement, and project team facilitation.  Owns strong communication, organizational-planning, and change management skills.  Proven ability to work under pressure and meet internal / external deadlines.  Proficiency in various software applications including word processing, database, spreadsheets, and JMP® or other statistical analysis software.

 

Required:   None    

 

EDUCATION:

 

Preferred:   MS in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or related technical field

 

Required:   BS in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering (General), Healthcare Administration, Computer and Information Systems , Operations Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

Preferred:   Background working in Hospital, Ambulatory Care, or Academic Medical setting with emphasis on applying performance improvement methodologies

Lean Six Sigma Experience

 

Required:   Less than 4 years professional experience working in an Industrial Engineering, Quality or Performance Improvement capacity as an analyst or project manager.

 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/ OTHER:

 

Preferred:  Lean Six Black (Green) Belt Certification

Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent

 

  Required:   Lean Six Sigma Belt Certification within one year of hire Certifications:  Per department or     hospital requirements and relevant policies

 

GENERAL SUMMARY:  Demonstrates commitment to the vision, core purpose/mission and goals of LRMC, modeling the values and culture.  

 

The Industrial Engineer will contribute to the achievement of LRMC strategic plans through the development and leadership of performance improvement activities in operational and/or clinical arenas under the guidance of the Manager of Industrial Engineering.

 

The Industrial Engineer will utilize skills to drive performance improvement projects by conducting operational assessments; providing advanced statistical analyses; facilitating project teams and work groups; presenting project results and improvement proposals; and developing measurement tools, to enhance LRMC’s operating capabilities.

 

The Industrial Engineer will be a self-starter; be able to successfully manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision; possess excellent communication and presentation skills; and demonstrate tact and diplomacy under all working circumstances.

 

The Industrial Manager will function as an empowered member of the Strategic Performance team and hold themselves accountable for team outcomes under the direction of the Manager of Industrial Engineering.
