- Minimum 1 year experience preferred
Collects blood specimens from all ages, by venous and capillary techniques following established procedures and standards. Aids in receipt and processing of lab specimens. Assures patient and specimen identification prior to providing service as stated in Phlebotomy procedure manual. Performs routine blood collection and handling techniques on patients using approved blood collection equipment. May assist with specialized blood collection for all ages (neonates, children, geriatrics). Administers basic care, summons medical assistance, and reports to Supervisor any adverse reaction to a Phlebotomy procedure. Instructs patients, receives and/or collects body fluid specimens.
Valid Driver's License required.
BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) preferred.
1 year of previous healthcare experience strongly preferred.
