Job Details:
  • The Imaging Interventional Radiology (IR) Scheduler works directly with provider practices, imaging nursing staff, interventional technologists, and radiologists to coordinate the timely scheduling of imaging interventional procedures. Will have knowledge of all interventional exams to ensure medical necessity and appropriateness is met for these procedures.  Communicates effectively with the ordering physician practices regarding interventional procedure appointments, obtain necessary pre/ post procedure patient information and appropriateness of interventional orders.  Reviews daily charges, and bills for accuracy and makes corrections as appropriate. Reviews and resolves accounts on the status three reports. 

     

    Qualifications:

    • Coding certification preferred
    • Technical training beyond high school preferred
    • 5 years experience in multiple Imaging Support Service areas strongly preferred; experience as an Imaging Services Representative 3 or 4 preferred

    Other Special Skills – Preferred 

    • Knowledge of Medicare and managed care guidelines for medical necessity.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • Knowledge in diagnostic imaging, special/interventional procedure, ultrasound, CT, mammography and nuclear medicine exams.
    • Proficiency in a suite of Microsoft Office applications
