Supports organization-wide quality and performance improvement activities and Lean projects by implementing information technology solutions for data collection, analysis and reporting. Integrates and analyzes data from disparate sources to create useful information on clinical and financial performance, utilizing descriptive statistics and/or statistical process control methodology as appropriate. Develops databases/spreadsheets for use by clinical/clerical staff, and educates and supports staff in the use of these tools.
Qualifications: BA/BS Degree required. Minimum of 3 years experience in data analysis is required, preferably in a healthcare setting with a strong focus on business or accounting. Application of descriptive statistics and statistical process control methodologies, familiarity with SQL and relational databases, knowledge of quality assessment and performance improvement concepts preferred. Familiarity with risk/severity adjustment methodologies; basic coding of diseases/procedures and basic medical terminology desired but not required.
Strong analytical skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Windows-based applications, including Word and PowerPoint required. Advanced ability with Excel and Access software, intermediate ability with Minitab statistical software and the ability to generate reports from the hospital system. Excellent written and oral communication; report presentation; ability to develop Microsoft Access databases for clinical applications; ability to work in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions; ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to reprioritize work as needed; excellent organizational, interpersonal skills are required.
