Job Summary: Shares responsibility for administering all aspects of the Trauma Program with the Trauma Medical Director. This includes evaluation and management of the trauma program from pre-hospital through discharge - across the entire continuum of care. This position is fundamental to the ongoing delivery and continuous evaluation of the Trauma Program. Assures all Level One Trauma Center verification standards are met as required by the American College of Surgeons and theOffice of Public Health / Office of EMS and Trauma Responsible for program assessment, planning, organizing, implementation, budgeting, performance improvement, education, and marketing communications. Supervises Trauma Program personnel to include Trauma Registrars, Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator, Trauma Administrative Assistant, and any additional positions including grant funded trauma positions. This position is responsible for administrating and managing funds received through grant allocations. This position is multifaceted and dynamic. This position reports/presents all trauma data collected in weekly, monthly, and yearly meetings on a local, state and national level.
Education: Minimum of bachelors degree in Nursing. Additional education or training in trauma related courses (PHTLS, ATLS, PALS, ATCN, CATN). Paramedic training desirable . Must obtain ATLS Coordinator Status within 1 year of hire.
Experience: A minimum of five years of nursing experience which includes three years experience in emergency/critical care/flight nursing
Certification/License/Registration: Current certification in CPR, ACLS, and TNCC/ATCN CEN and/or CCRN certification
