Provides leadership to EMS field crews and supervision to maintain orderly workflow within the Baldwin Operations of the EMS department. Maintains department within established rules, regulations and medical protocols. The EMS Shift Supervisor reports to the EMS Shift Manager in the Bibb County Operations. The EMS Shift Supervisor also provides Advanced Life support to patients of the age groups: Infants, Toddlers, Preschoolers, School Aged, Adolescents, Adults and Gerians as dispatched throughout the Emergency Medical Services area. The EMS Shift Supervisor serves as a community resource in Baldwin County and represents the MCCG EMS Department when appropriate or as directed by the EMS Director or Assistant Director.
Education: Completion of High School or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience as a Paramedic. One year of previous experience in ambulance or supervisory position preferred. Should have credentials in Incident Command (must achieve within six months). Must maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets the requirements set forth by the hospital driving policy. Must be aware and follow current Federal and Georgia laws with regards to Emergency Medical Services. Must have knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other department specific software (Tri Tech and Fleet Maintenance).
Certification/License/Registration: Must hold a Georgia Paramedic License. Must be certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support as well as Advance Cardiac Life Support and must maintain certification.
Position Titles and Number Supervised: Supervises 12-20 Paramedics/Cardiac Tec/Emergency Medical Technicians.
