Job Summary: Under the direction of the RN, performs additional delegated duties and responsibilities beyond a Clinical Tech I, in assisting in the care of the patient. Able to perform the major job function of a Clinical Tech I plus more complex duties required. Responsible for designated equipment and supplies used in the care of assigned patients. Must accept personal responsibility for his/her performance, communication and relationships with others. Must maintain CT I and II competencies. Must be flexible in changing assignments, workload and learning new skills. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit.
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED plus the Level I competencies (basic patient care, supplies or equipment, patient transport and/or positioning, basic documentation skills, communication and interpersonal skills, organizational skills) Must successfully complete physical demand assessment demonstrating pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds. Requirements: Must complete at least four of the following as determined by the hiring director: basic rhythm interpretation, preceptor, blood glucose monitoring, trach/respiratory care, insert/remove foley catheters, insert non-weighted NG tube, certification in CPR or NRP, sterile dressing changes, chest tube monitoring, specialty procedure/equipment set-up, administer, set-up and monitor tube feeding, unit-specific competencies. Preferences: Certified Nursing Assistant, experience in taking care of patients and dealing with the public.
