Physician Assistant may manage the health care for designated patients. The PA practices according to written protocol, under the direct supervision of a physician in the Emergency Center. Supplements medical expertise and care provided by physician. Documented/dictated records must be approved/signed by a supervising physician.
Graduate from accredited school as a Physician Assistant. At least 6 months is desired.
Current Georgia Physician Assistant License and Current Certification by or board eligibility/preparation for National Association for Physician Assistants. Certification is required within one (1) year of hire. CPR, ACLS, PALS required (ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire).
Must have good verbal and written communication skills, demonstrate discretion in handling confidential information, and demonstrate flexibility in meeting needs of the Emergency Department and patients. Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to think analytically and work independently and as part of a team. Must have visual acuity to see patient condition, be able to hear and orally communicate both in person and by phone, be able to move freely and lift and turn patients. Must have manual dexterity to document in medical record and utilize computer system.
