VCU Health System's Laboratory Information Systems is seeking a full time PathNet Systems Analyst  ( Clinical Applications)  Staff level.   Will support the Department of Pathology Information Systems functions by providing database query, database creation and management, report creation, programming and applications development, and applications support.

 

Responsibilities

Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions with work completed with accuracy and sound judgment ensuring objectives are met.

Create new databases in Microsoft Access, SQL Server or other systems to support data management requirements including multi-user interfaces and web interfaces.  Use software development tools to create applications to support department information management needs. Create reports and data analysis using query software for these software products.

Create XML and flat file transfer applications in .NET for direct data transfer to outside state agencies, federal agencies and private health care organizations to support reporting of infectious disease, toxicology and other data used for public health and for insurance reimbursement.
Maintain programs created to query Cerner database, other databases, data analysis and reports, user interfaces and data exchange processes.
Ensure all automated and scheduled jobs perform correctly and as scheduled.

Work hours and work day requirements may vary based on job assignment.

 

Qualifications

Required

Position requires a Bachelor's Degree with three (3) years of related programming experience, or equivalent combination of related education and experience
Customer service skills
Attention to detail and organization skills
Sharp critical thinking skills

Preferred

Experience using:
C#
MVC design paradigm
Service oriented architecture
Javascript
jQuery
Ajax
T-SQL
windows communication foundation
User interface and user experience design
Node.js, document based (No SQL) databases
