Help Desk Technician - Information Systems

Job Details: This person will assist in all activities required to maintain a Windows based Personal Computer and Meditech HIS environment. They will provide Help Desk response to phone and work-order requests. They will review end user requests and resolve the need or forward it to the appropriate Information Systems staff. They will manage PC Network and Meditech user accounts. They will diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software problems. They will install hardware and software to meet the corporate needs. They will cover for the Operations Specialist as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  A high school diploma with Microsoft Certification and 3-5 years of experience in Help Desk Services. Must be able to read and write and follow written and oral directions. One or two years experience in a personal computer environment. Additional relevant experience may considered in lieu of the educational requirements. A minimum of twelve months experience coordinating or managing group activity in a medium size business environment. Knowledge of MS-DOS, Window 9x, NT, 2000 and XP. Strong Microsoft Office skills and healthcare background will be considered a plus. Knowledge of data processing principles and procedures. Experience in the process of migrating personal computer data to facilitate hardware replacement or upgrades. Must be able to communicate and effectively exchange information with Information Systems staff, other Meadville Medial Center staff, physicians, physician office staff and other customers. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Work is sedentary with intermittent standing and walking. Lifting of moderately heavy equipment is required. Must be physical fit. WORKING CONDITIONS:  Normal office. There may be moderate noise and frequent interruptions.
