Your Job:

Assist the Manager of Regulatory Compliance, the Manager of Governmental Accounting, Director of Reimbursement and the Vice President/Controller in the reporting of governmental accounting for Methodist Health Systems (MHS).

Your Job Requirements:

  • Degree in finance, accounting, or another business related Degree preferred.
  • Position requires extensive knowledge of governmental programs ( Medicare and Medicaid).
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to manage time in order to meet concurrent deadlines

Your Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist Manager of Regulatory Compliance with the preparation of the documentation required to support the financial information needed to complete the CMS 2552-10 and 287 Medicare/Medicaid cost reports for four acute care hospitals and corporate home office - applying the Medicare/Medicaid laws, regulations and policy requirements of the Federal and State governments. Assist with any audit, appeals, and reopenings of the cost report.
  • Serve on committees to assure MHS compliance with Medicare/Medicaid laws, regulations, and policies. This will include one or more of the following committees: the Payment Differences Committee, the Coding, and Billing Compliance Committee
  • Provide the necessary information related to special projects as required by the Vice President/Controller, Director of Reimbursement, Manager of Government Accounting, and Manager of Regulatory Compliance.
  • Participate in month end close meetings for the Medicare/Medicaid contractual allowance. Participate in the year end review of the annual Medicare/Medicaid cost report for each hospital used to book year end results.
  • Prepare the required Campus reports for impacted acute care hospitals at the completion of the annual hospitals 2552-10 cost reports to obtain payment from Campus for Capital and Medical education costs. File the Campus report in December of each year.
  • Assist Centralized Business Office and other department managers to resolve Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, billing, and compliance issues as they arise.
  • Learn duties of the CDM Coordinator to be able to assist and/or back up this staff when in a heavy workload or on vacation, sick leave, etc.
